My next book is called AKA AURORA. The best way I can describe it is The Long Kiss Goodnight meets The Bourne Identity. It’s gonna be great. The Long Kiss Goodnight is one of my all-time favorite movies and Charley Baltimore is definitely who Aurora is based on.
But the book after AKA AURORA, a medical thriller, has been creeping into my consciousness through my unconsciousness–as in my REM sleep. I wake up and have the uncontrollable urge to write about Lulu Segura, a young widow who just completed her residency as a surgeon months before her husband, a fellow doctor, commits suicide after undergoing a successful kidney transplant. Lulu is a character from second my novel, BROKER, which will be released in March.
DONOR probably won’t be out until the summer of 2013 but I think it will be set a bit in the future, like around 2018-2020, because of the advances in medical tranplantation that I plan to incorporate.
I’m not even supposed to start this book until next summer, or a AKA AURORA until January for that matter… but what can I say? When your muse is buggin’ like a monkey on your back, what else can you do except feed it or go nuts trying to ignore it?
