True Sacrifice

Some of you might have seen a blog I have since taken down, along with the comments included. I felt it was best because a person mentioned briefly turned around and made it a very untenable situation. Additionally some of you made comments about her behavior that I chose not to allow to be published. This blog is about me, my books and my points of view. While I have no problem with genuine criticism about my work, I am not going to turn my blog into an open forum that spills over into my personal relationship with friends and family. Please accept my apologies if you feel slighted you comments were not posted, but as I stated earlier, I removed the entire post.

Now, moving right along…

Tomorrow is Good Friday. Below I have posted the lyrics to the Third Day song, “Carry My Cross.”

As long as I remember
I’ve been walking through the wilderness
Praying to the Father
And waiting for my time
I’ve come here with a mission
And soon I’ll give my life for this world

I’m praying in the garden
And I’m looking for a miracle
I find the journey hard but
It’s the reason I was born
Can this cup be passed on
Lord, I pray your will be done
In this world

So I’ll carry my cross
And I’ll carry the shame
To the end of the road
Through the struggle and pain
And I’ll do it for love
No, it won’t be in vain
Yes, I’ll carry my cross
And I’ll carry the shame

I feel like I’m alone here
And I’m treated like a criminal
The time has come for me now
Even though I’ve done no wrong
Father, please forgive them
They know not what they’ve done
In this world

So I’ll carry my cross
And I’ll carry the shame
To the end of the road
Through the struggle and pain
And I’ll do it for love
No, it won’t be in vain
Yes, I’ll carry my cross
And I’ll carry the shame

Three more days and I’ll be coming back again
Three more days and I’ll be coming back again

I have also included one of the YouTube versions of the video which depicts scenes from The Passion of the Christ.

Tomorrow evening my sons will gather at my house and we will watch this movie. It is SO VERY IMPORTANT to see what God sacrificed for us all and why this remarkable man is still known today as the King of Kings. Easter is not just about colored eggs, candy and the Easter Bunny.

Remember our Savior and give thanks for His sacrifice. Blessings to all!!
